Description

After the first couple of weeks, I really believed that someone would have wondered where I was. "Why has the library been closed so long?" "Why can't I get this new book?" Even if no one truly thought to look for me directly, I thought that they would at least miss the store, or miss the checkouts, or even just selfishly berate my absense for the sole fact that the children in town couldn't do research conveniently for their schoolwork...

But really, it hit me all at once, the hurt. My family was too divided and too far away to realise anything was amiss. Larfleeze's cottage didn't have any electricity, so I didn't have the opportunity to get a message out over the phone or the net. Montana is painful like that, the more remote your home, the worse even stolen reception could be. Even if he hadn't have taken my satchel, my phone probably would struggle for even a tenth of a bar this far from town.

But he had taken my bag, my shoes, my books, my jacket - everything I had come here with, short of what filthy tatters and remnants I still wore - everything was his. In amidst the filth, the collective mass of garbage and randomness that crowded in around the alcove I'd crafter near the window, I was almost clean - a pristine speciman in his collection. Still, there were times even that didn't hold his attention, and I was left alone, abandoned.

I am beginning to wonder if I'm still ok... sometimes, I really wish he'd pay more attention than he does...

I kind of like his company...

Ghost Town
Adam Lambert

Died last night in my dreams
Walking the streets
Of some old ghost town
I tried to believe
In God and James Dean
But Hollywood sold out

Saw all of the saints
Lock up the gates
I could not enter
Walked into the flames
Called out your name
But there was no answer

And now I know my heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town

Died last night in my dreams
All the machines
Had been disconnected
Time was thrown at the wind
And all of my friends
Had been disaffected

Now, I'm searching for trust
In a city of rust
A city of vampires
Tonight, Elvis is dead
And everyone's spread
And love is a satire

And now I know my heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town

There's no one left in the world
I'm gunslingin'
[Music video version:] Don't give a damn if I go
Down, down, down
I got a voice in my head that keeps singing
Oh, my heart is a ghost town

My heart is a ghost town
Oh, my heart is a ghost town
(Said, my heart)
My heart is a ghost town
My heart is a ghost town
